Onsen Energy offers comprehensive services for ground source heat pump projects. In this case, we collaborated with partners to deliver a large-scale ground source heat pump system for a Secondary School and Sixth-Form College in the UK, utilising advanced borehole drilling techniques and sustainable energy solutions tailored to educational institutions.
From initial design consultation to implementation, our team ensures seamless integration of borehole drilling processes, prioritising minimal site disruption and environmental sustainability on this 65-borehole project.
Our methodical approach includes utilising a protective rubber matting system and state-of-the-art mud recycling system to safeguard school grounds during drilling operations, ensuring minimal environmental impact and optimal working conditions. To protect the school's playing fields from our heavy machinery, the drilling rig was situated on the matting, protecting the ground from the usual damage heavy machinery would cause. With each borehole complete, the rig moves forward onto the next mat and continues with the next borehole.
“This has been a thoroughly enjoyable project to be involved with, from start to finish. I’d like to congratulate all involved to date in the planning, design and delivery of the GSHP installation. The professional and collaborative approach has helped Onsen Energy in completing the borehole drilling process on time and in budget, with creating limited disruption to the school. A job well done and we’re delighted with the outcome”.
